HISTORY & STATISTICS
In May 2006, Cleaning For a Reason was founded in Texas by Deborah Sardone, a 25-year veteran of the professional housecleaning industry. This is a nonprofit corporation with 134 current chapters in 31 states and Canada.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Requests for cleaning services are screened and qualified through the Cleaning For a Reason Call Center. Approved requests are passed on to local chapters to initiate services.
LIMITATIONS
The Foundation matches qualified patients first, with cleaning companies who have pledged to provide four (4) free housecleaning visits to women undergoing treatment for cancer.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Anyone interested in receiving services, donating, volunteering, or sponsoring a patient, is encouraged to visit www.cleaningforareason.org and fill out an online request, or call (877)337-3348 for more information.
FOUNDATION REQUESTS
Due to the intense demand for services, donations from individuals and corporations are greatly needed. Sponsorship programs and fundraisers are utilized in order to obtain funds for the discounted cleaning fees for each client and to extend the number of philanthropic cleanings.
TAX STATUS
The foundation operates with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service.
